The Remote Control Panel (RCP) is the Panel Server that PESA is introducing to the market, a 1 RU peripheral that allows existing control panels to work with the PERC3000 router's control system based on the PESA network.
Most of the router's remote control panels include virtually all models currently installed with the Cheetahk digital routing system, communicating with the system controller using the RCP bus, a proprietary non-Ethernet bus protocol. Up to eight serial data ports.
The Panel Server RCP allows up to 32 individual remote control panels, connected via RS-485, to connect directly to the PERC3000 system. As a result, the Panel Server enables all modular upgrades through its features, as opposed to a complete replacement of the control panels set up around the serial protocols.
