Telecast Fiber Systems
Telecast Fiber Systems announces its new Terrapin FTR-D6 fiber optic video transceiver, which incorporates a six-output distribution amplifier.
The equipment has one fiber optic (ST) input and one copper output (BNC) as well as one fiber optic (ST) output and six copper (BNC) outputs. By pressing a button you easily switch to all four operating modes.
The first mode allows it to act as an HD/SDI distribution amplifier with all six BNC outputs and one ST. The second mode supports the "tap and drop" installation in which the equipment is used as a receiver and retransmitter to power six different monitor locations.
In mode three, Terrapin acts as a transceiver to receive a signal from a distant location and then transmits it via the six BNC outputs. Finally, Mode 4 is a purely SDI distribution amplifier to provide multiple outputs from a single BNC signal.
