Matrox introduces its Endea platform for multi-channel encoding/decoding, Endea (Encoder and Decoder Appliance) is an OEM platform aimed at facilitating the development of encoders, decoders, transcoders and mixers, significantly reducing the cost of investment and development for engineering applications with coding and decoding on H264.
Endea enables capture, encoding, transmission, recording, distribution, video processing, special effects creation, decoding, transcoding, and display. OEMs may use Endea for applications related to controllers, video extension products, mixers, arrays, multiscreens, encoding for streaming and/or recording, decoding, etc.
Endea will allow simultaneous multi-stream encoding or decoding up to 4K60p, supporting 4:2:0, 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 8- and 10-bit sub-sampling, as well as Panasonic AVC-Ultra and Sony XAVC. Finally, note that the fully programmable coding engine includes GOP architecture and frame management.
