Harmonic's new family of integrated set-top boxes is headed by the ProView ™ 8000 model. A single-channel commercial decoder, it is a compact, fully integrated unit for general-purpose primary distribution applications.
Workflow efficiency is a key feature of this advanced IRD. ProView 8100 offers simultaneous HD-SDI and SD-SDI output with high-quality HD to SD downconversion, allowing operators to use the same device to power both HD and SD production chains.
Integrated frequency conversion provides additional benefits, especially for distributors of multinational programs, as it allows content generated at 50 Hz to be distributed at 60 Hz, or vice versa. With this capability, operators no longer have to purchase a separate or standalone frequency converter.
