Mexico. Mexico-based media conglomerate Grupo Imagen is deploying EditShare XStream EFS 450 production-scale storage, XStream EFS 40NL parking modes, and Flow media asset management to support content and automation of workflow delivery.
The Mexican company was recently awarded a national broadcast television license that expands its current broadcast network to more than 190 broadcast sites with its multiplexed signal throughout the Mexican national territory. This opportunity requires the broadcaster to physically build a network of stations in some of Mexico's major cities and thus reinforce its Mexico City headquarters with an infrastructure that can support connected workflows.
The installation of EditShare will help in the production of broadcast of soap operas and newscasts, providing a tiered storage environment to have a fast production line and parking storage with the automation of the transfer to the medium by post-production systems and third-party storage platforms, optimizing collaboration and media sharing through work groups.
"Our expansion strategy is to make Mexico City the center of operations, feeding the content of the national news, entertainment and sports programming to our local stations that will be created soon. Grupo Imagen operates television and radio stations, and produces news, sports, telenovelas and thematic programs. More than 80% of the content is produced in the seven studios in Mexico City, requiring significant infrastructure to support mass production. The installation and delivery design is spearheaded by Escape Audio, EditShare's business partner.
The Foundation for Expanded Productions and Workflows
Grupo Imagen will assign new tasks to its EMC Isilon and Quantum storage solutions, and make use of the potential performance of the EditShare XStream EFS 450 288 TB scale enterprise storage solution for online production edition and EFS 40NL 3/4 PB buffer buffer. EditShare Flow will also be implemented for content automation and migration, advancing the production workflows of the news, sports and entertainment departments.
