Colombia. The Bogotá International Film Festival -BIFF, seeks the next stories of Ibero-American cinema. The Festival kicked off the engines of its twelfth edition with a key announcement for the region's audiovisual ecosystem, the strategic evolution of its industry component, the BIFF Producers Club, formerly BIFF LAB. Learn about the terms and conditions on the Festival website.
In 2026, the traditional training and business space is transformed to give life to the BIFF Producers Club, an exclusive professional meeting point whose main objective is to comprehensively accompany the development of Ibero-American fiction feature films. The application for these productions can be made until June 20.
This ambitious initiative is the result of a joint effort between the Festival, the Secretariat of Culture, Recreation and Sports of the Mayor's Office of Bogotá, the Macrosector of Creative and Cultural Industries of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce and the Bogotá Film Commission of Idartes.
The call, which will remain open from Monday, May 25 to Saturday, June 20 at 5:00 p.m. (Colombia time), is strictly designed for production companies in the region that demonstrate a minimum trajectory of three years of legal incorporation and a robust portfolio that includes at least three previously released feature films.
The BIFF is looking for fiction projects with a minimum duration of 70 minutes, that have an advanced version of their script – at least in third writing – and that have secured 10% of the financing required for their development stage. A committee will evaluate the proposals under rigorous criteria: the originality of the audiovisual treatment, the coherence of the development proposal and the financial feasibility to achieve the production within a maximum period of three years.
The projects that are selected will be part of the face-to-face meeting to be held in October, within the framework of the BIFF Bogotá Creative Connect. During these three days, the participating producers will have access to a high-level agenda made up of think tanks, sectoral discussion panels, Fam Trips and meticulously scheduled one-to-one meetings with experts from the global audiovisual industry to promote co-production and the positioning of Bogotá as a creative epicenter.
In addition, the BIFF will grant direct benefits to ensure the presence of filmmakers in the Colombian capital, including professional accreditation to the Festival, accommodation for four nights in official hotels and international or national air tickets. The publication of the official results will be announced on Saturday, August 8, 2026.
In parallel to this co-production market, BIFF reaffirms its commitment to generational renewal and specialized training by simultaneously opening registrations for the BIFF BANG academic workshops, the call closes on July 23.
This parallel educational platform is specifically designed to qualify the technical, critical and narrative skills of the next generation of filmmakers, critics and creators in the continent's audiovisual environment.
Production companies interested in submitting their feature films in development or in registering for the academic agenda can consult the complete bases of both calls through the official web platform of the festival in www.biff.co/
