International. Dash Radio, a streaming service that delivers 65 radio stations to listeners around the world, has automated its entire playback network using ENCO DAD technology.
The custom DAD platform allows Dash Radio to drive up to 12 ad-free stations from a single workstation, drastically reducing operating costs while enabling the same automated workflow power of a terrestrial radio network.
In addition, advanced features such as Remote Voice Tracking and Dropbox-based File Transfer eliminate the challenges of working with broadcast DJs around the world.
Launched by radio veterans DJ Skee and John Halterman, Dash Radio brings traditional radio of yesteryear to modern, mobile streaming, app-based internet. DJs can build playlists without corporate interference or algorithm-based song options, and most formats are built around popular genres served by traditional AM/FM media.
Halterman, Dash Radio's President of Operations, says concerns about running costs of an ad-free streaming service with the technical infrastructure of a terrestrial radio network initially seemed like an impossible hurdle.
The automated workflow is further empowered through integration with ENCO MusicMaster programming software, which in turn simplifies and accelerates the creation of dad playlists; and feature ENCO's Dropbox, which lets you drag and drop files from entire shows, separate songs, and voice tracks, images, and more into dedicated program folders.
DJs can add content to their Dropbox folders, and everything is organized and ready to go. Radio Dash production staff can then export those libraries that use DAD's Cut File app directly into MusicMaster, which automatically adds the song, title, and other identifying data.
