International. Imagine Communications will demonstrate UHD across the company's networking and playout platforms at IBC in Amsterdam. The addition of capabilities to support UHDTV1 and 4K resolutions, High Dynamic Range (HDR), Expanded Color Gamut, and High Frame Rate as portfolio features reinforces support for next-generation technologies in the media and entertainment industries.
UHD-compatible solutions that will be at IBC include the company's premier, the PlatinumTM IP3 router that supports quad-link formats and features multiple integrated functionalities – operated under the MagellanTM SDN Orchestrator software control layer – as well as the industry-leading integrated server solution Nexio AMP®, which is suitable for UHD playback.
Visitors to the Imagine Communications booth will also see a demonstration of the versatile IP processing, compression and networking platform, SeleniumTM MCP, with the recently launched up and down conversion UHD modules. These new modules enable modern processing adapted to 10-‐bit motion, which helps ensure high video quality and integrity.
This enables broadcasters and media companies to leverage their existing HD assets, converting entire libraries of high-value content into UHD digital video format for new revenue streams across all current distribution platforms and the growing diversity of devices.
For UHD distribution to the end user, Imagine Communications will highlight the capabilities of SeleniumFlexTM File. With the support of HEVC UHD Main 10 and Interoperable Master Format (IMF) file-based transcoding, SelenioFlex File enables on-demand UHD workflows for content distributors and other media companies. Imagine will also show live UHD HEVC enconding in real time with the SelenioFlexTM Live solution.
Imagine's UHD-friendly portfolio also includes the distribution and fiber optic modules of the Selenium 6800+TM integrative signal processing platform, as well as the versatile dual-channel frame synchronizer and 1RU Selenium X100TM converter.
