NAB. Wheatstone unveiled this week at NAB a new multi-band audio processor ideal for LPFM or other FM stations that requires basic control of spectral audio formation and peak limitation.
The new FM-25 includes two intelligent bands of AGC technology – or IAGC – along with a multiband limiter and stereo generator. The combination provides automatic, real-time program density control for consistent, spectrally balanced sound, regardless of density variations in the incoming source material.
Other features of the FM-25 include stereo enhancement and LR adaptive control, a program for multipath mitigation. The composite output signal is available as a traditional analog through BNC connectors on the rear panel and at the same time as baseband 192, from Wheatstone's digital multiplex technology.
The FM-25 is fully compatible with the WheatNet-IP Smart Network, and is equipped with two composite analog outputs, an SCA input, balanced analog left/right outputs and an AES digital output that can be changed and delivered either discreet Left/Right or baseband192 digital multiplex signal. Audio input with automatic switching of the source can be delivered via analog, AES and WheatNet-IP.
