Argentina. Telefe, based in Buenos Aires, is looking to improve the productivity of its infrastructure in the preparation of programs, production, distribution and archiving of media content, for which it implemented the Dalet Media Life system.
To simplify the workflow during Telefe's transmission, post-production and archiving, Dalet Media Life connects the systems and offers users a centralized content catalog with powerful production tools, advanced metadata and automated processes that greatly improve the creation and distribution of news segments, novels, promos, programs in magazine format and programs in general.
Santiago Matías Guimerans Soto, head of technology and information systems at Telefe, highlighted that "Dalet Media Life has provided us with total interoperability, orchestrating the flow of media through the platforms of our non-linear editors Adobe Premiere Pro CC, and the quality control, transmission and storage systems. The way it unifies our entire transmission process allows us to improve production, simplify distribution and consolidate technology into a small group of world-class suppliers."
The corporate deployment was led by IplusB, a systems integration company based in Buenos Aires. Dalet Media Life also facilitates the exchange of multimedia media content stored in Telefe's IBM automated library, controlled by Xendata's HSM system. Previously, the search for material had to be done through non-linear editors, a process of intense work that immobilized the editing room. But now, with web-based access to the content catalog and its archives, Telefe can easily take greater advantage of its extensive library of material.
"Telefe represents one of Dalet's largest facilities in South America. What attracted Telefe was the possibility of connecting production, post-production and storage, in combination with easy distribution of content to media such as YouTube and other new technology media," explained Julien Decaix, Dalet's general manager for the United States and Latin America.
