Latin America. In the framework of the CES fair that takes place this week in Las Vegas, United States, the Sony company presented its novelties for 2015 in consumer equipment. Among them is the reference handycam camcorder FDR-AXP33, which will allow consumers to produce content in 4K.
This camera is about 30% smaller and 20% lighter than the existing FDR-AX100. It is the first Sony 4K camcorder to incorporate the function B.O.SS (Balanced Optical SteadyShot) to obtain sharp images when recording holding the camera with the hand. This image stabilization system keeps 4K video sharp and stable, from a wide angle to a telephoto lens.
Like all of Sony's 4K camcorders this year, the FDR-AXP33 records using the efficient XAVC S format to produce 4K footage that is easy to store, edit and share.
It features various professional sophistications, including a manual ring and a button that can be assigned functions such as zoom, focus, and exposure. It also incorporates an ISO-compliant multi-interface hot shoe that accepts a range of plugins and expands the video maker's creative opportunities.
It is equipped with a bright 3.0" Xtra Fine LCD display with WhiteMagic technology that allows users to see subtle details and tones on the screen in any type of filming environment, including outdoors under a bright sun, to review the footage and instantly adjust the camera settings.
As an additional sophistication, the Handycam FDR-AXP33 can "crop" 4K images, cropping backgrounds and increasing a selected part of the frame to fill the screen with Full HD quality. The crop size can be modified using the zoom lever or an on-screen icon for delicately framed results.
Live Streaming, characteristic of the new models, allows you to 'transmit' images and HD video sound from the Handycam through a wireless access point.
The FDR-AX100 will also support high XAVC S 4K recording bit transfer rates at 100 Mbps through a firmware update scheduled for 2015.
