Brazil. The production company SP Telefilm is in charge of providing the broadcast services to TV Azteca to broadcast the matches of the Mexican national team in Brazil during the 2014 FIFA World Cup, based on the use of live production solutions from Grass Valley.
SP Telefilm is using its HD OB van to broadcast the games via satellite in the state of São Paulo, one of the cities where the games will take place.
The mobile unit is equipped with a Grass Valley Kayenne system with 48 inputs, nine individual LDK 4000 Elite HD format cameras, one LDK 8300 live 1X/2X/3X Super Slow Motion cameras, three four-channel K2 Dyno Replay Systems and a multi-format routing switch.
"The Grass Valley production team will not only allow us to capture every match, it will provide spectacular, fascinating and engaging footage for viewers in Mexico. This is especially true with the integration of our three K2 Dyno Replay Systems, which gives us the opportunity to put together summary packages and reproduces what fans in Mexico expect from World Cup matches," said João Carlos Serres, general manager of SP Telefilm.
This agreement dates back to 2013, when SP Telefilm and TV Azteca first agreed to produce and broadcast the Confederations Cup. The agreement was then expanded to include the draw for the 2014 FIFA World Cup groups in Brazil, a programme in the host cities of the World Cup and coverage of the Mexican national team.
"With an event as important as the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, we are honored that SP Telefilm has placed its trust in Grass Valley and the live production teams so that fans in Mexico can take root for their national team," said Leonel da Luz, Vice President of Sales for Latin America at Grass Valley.
