International. JVC announced the availability of its firmware update 3.0 for its mobile news cameras, reference GY-HM600 and GY-HM650. The upgrade is free for all current owners.
For both cameras, the update includes 1080p/60, Extreme High Quality (XHQ) recording modes with virtual lossless formats 50 Mbps H.264 (. MOV), and large file support for SDXC cards. The firmware update adds advanced Zixi live streaming and RTSP/RTP streaming capabilities to the GY-HM650.
Using the new Advanced Streaming (AST) technology, the GY-HM650 3.0 provides content error correction and bandwidth settings. Zixi algorithms maximize bandwidth to ensure reliable transmission and advanced content aware of error correction, compensating for up to 30% packet loss.
With the upgrade, the GY-HM650 also supports professional JVC streaming services, including the new ProHD Transmitter server powered by Zixi that provides reliable live content delivery to a variety of hardware, CDN and web set-top boxes.
