Mexico. Televisa Deportes, a division of the network, recently gave viewers in Mexico a preview of the technology that will be used during this summer's World Cup. You will use the latest graphics technology from the company Vizrt, which will serve for your correspondents to present the analysis of each meeting.
Called "Alternate Reality" technology, it uses an interactive touch table to analyze plays and discuss team strategy and gameplay. The effect for viewers is better analysis and a better understanding of the game and how it is played. This technology was used for the first time during a friendly match of the Mexican national team last March.
Some of the unique features of the touch table include multi-touch functionality, which allows a player to be extracted from the table with a tap and has the player's image as a life-size hologram with their personal stats and their value to the team.
The touch table leverages Vizrt's Virtual Studio system for virtual players and the Real-time Composition Engine Viz Engine for touchscreen graphics.
Televisa has been a long-term user of Vizrt technology for its coverage in sports. Last summer, he successfully used Virtual Presenter technology for the first time during coverage of the 2013 Copa Confederaça tournament.
