International. Ideal for professional producers and corporate event camera operators, which suits a wide variety of production environments, is the new XDCAM PMW-300 camcorder, which Sony introduced this week.
This equipment has the 3CMOS Exmor Full-HD sensor of 1/2 inch, capable of producing incredible images even in low light conditions. It can record HD footage at 50Mbps in MPEG HD422, meeting streaming standards around the world.
The high bitrate ensures excellent capture of fast-moving objects, while the chroma subsampling function is perfect for a wide range of video encoding areas such as VFX and green screen applications. The camcorder may also be upgraded in the future to support the Sony-XAVC codec, extending the life of the product to ensure maximum return on investment*.
The size of the three sensors offers high light sensitivity and low noise in the image. As a result, they produce clear, high-resolution images even when shooting in low-light conditions. The camcorder also includes Sony's advanced signal processing technology, which effectively eliminates noise and creates noticeably clearer images.
This evolution of the PMW-EX3 camcorder features the same EX-mount interchangeable lens system as its predecessor, making it compatible with a wide variety of 1/2-inch and 2/3-inch lenses.
It also has its 3.5-inch color LCD viewfinder and HD resolution (960x540 pixels) allows precise focusing in HD footage, while the 8-pin remote control and multi-camera operation capability allow the PMW-300 camcorder to be used in 3D configurations and high-end camera systems.
The PMW-300 camcorder with 14x zoom lens will be available on the market from October 2013.
