Mexico. To strengthen its transmission system and have better image quality for its viewers in the United States and Mexico during the transmission of the London Olympic Games, Televisa acquired the company For – A Frame Rate converters of reference FRC-8000.
In total there were about 10 multiformat HD/SD equipment and frame rate converters, which allowed Televisa to make the live transmission without problems from the International Broadcast Center in London, thanks to the fact that they were able to convert the images from the European PAL standard to the NTSC standard that applies to the United States and Mexico.
Now, as announced by the channel, these converters will be used for the transmission of the summer games in Mexico, thanks to the functions of the equipment such as the processing of motion compensation and automatic scene detection.
Alfredo Cabrera, Sales Manager for Latin America For-A, said: "We are delighted to have played an important role in Televisa's coverage of the most anticipated sporting event of the year. We are confident that our product greatly benefited their operations, allowing for a smooth broadcast of the Summer Games."
According to For-A executives, his company's relationship with the channel is broad, as the channel has in the past used a variety of production switchers, video processors and frame rate converters.
