International. With a 50% bandwidth improvement to its online storage solution, Harris introduced its new version of the Nexio Farad, as well as the second storage protection system with a lower cost of entry.
According to the company, these systems allow broadcasters and media organizations to work faster and build the storage environment they need and meet future needs through a simple extension. The configurations serve customers who need anywhere from 8TB to half a petabyte of shared online storage.
In making the presentation, Paul Eisner, vice president of Engineering and Management for the company's broadcast product line, explained that "many of the customers are expanding their storage applications from simpler workstation philosophies to enterprise-grade strategies that support future growth."
Nexio Farad storage configurations feature REDUNDANT ARRAY of Independent Disks (RAID) technology that combines multiple hard drives into logical drives for the most efficient system performance.
It features RAID-60 storage protection, which makes it ideal for large-scale ingestion, for editing and playout applications for production, sports, news, and live events. It also allows file separation, increasing bandwidth while users add storage arrays.
