Xperi and TiVo reach more users

Xperi y TiVo llegan a más usuarios

Latin America. Xperi announced two milestones that are key for its independent media platform. The first of these is that TiVo-powered smart TVs will make their U.S. debut with Sharp.

The second is that 20 cable operators have chosen TiVo Broadband Solutions to enhance the television experience of their users with an extensive set of entertainment options.

As TiVo expands its presence and audience through smart TVs, cable operator services, connected cars, brands and advertisers can now engage with viewers through the TiVo One platform and the recently introduced Hero Ad Home Page display unit. These achievements demonstrate how Xperi and TiVo are improving the way people find, watch and enjoy their favorite content across any screen.

"It's hard for users to search for what they want to watch in a sea of apps. Our search and discovery engines create a personalized experience, delivering a content-centric result rather than an app-based one; this way consumers can access the options through streaming services and live television with a personalized interface," said Jon Kirchner, CEO of Xperi. "And now with TiVo One, we can deliver premium, featured advertising to the right audience, with relevant content, on the right device, at the perfect time."

It's no secret that users are saturated with content and options, which has caused them to change their entertainment habits. According to the latest TiVo Video Trends Report for the second quarter of 2024, in North America, 70% of respondents perceived the suggestions of different services as irrelevant and 48% said that it was annoying for them to have to navigate through multiple app options before selecting something to watch.

One of the standout features of the independent media platform is its advanced search and suggestion capability, powered by sophisticated algorithms that learn viewing habits and offer personalized recommendations according to each user's preferences. Customers receive content that is more tailored to their interests, reducing their effort to discover and enjoy new entertainment.

Content localization depends on having a large and diverse library that meets the preferences of each viewer. The independent media platform addresses this challenge by seamlessly integrating a wide range of free and paid content – from specialized streaming services to mainstream online channels and live sports – creating a comprehensive platform where consumers can explore, discover and access their ideal entertainment from a centralized user interface. TiVo has significantly expanded its network since last year, ensuring that users, whether at home or in the car, can easily access the options they want to enjoy.
