Argentina. In agreement with the G6 leadership entities and other representatives of different industrial, financial and technological subsectors in general, ATVC claims the need to correct the tax burden that weighs on the ICT industry at the provincial and local level, which discourages investment and the possibility of offering more and better entertainment and connectivity services to customers.
IIBB is one of the main tax burdens that weigh on the ICT sector today, with a cascade and multiplier effect on the prices of products and services, generating inefficiencies and cost overruns in the value chain and affecting the capacity and expansion of the entire ecosystem.
ATVC explained that the implementation of this tax has a profound regressive impact on households, slowing down digital inclusion and closing the gap in access to quality connectivity, generating the loss of opportunities and making it difficult to approach the benefits that new technologies offer us today.
"The ICT industry, with more than fifty years of history, is made up of more than 1500 large, medium-sized licensees and SMEs that invest intensively and at scale in connectivity infrastructure in all Argentine provinces, forming the highways of digitalization, e-commerce, education and so many other products and services. It is essential to review the tax burden on the sector to ensure the sustainability and dynamism of digital expansion throughout the country," the entity concluded.
