Colombia. During the day that Broadcast Depot had in three cities in Colombia, the company LiveU, hand in hand with its local distributor Videocorp, showed the latest updates of its systems, as well as its new studio launched in the latest version of NAB Show.
Francisco Roa, from LiveU, explained to TVyVideo+Radio that "We have made several improvements that we were able to show here in Colombia thanks to the visit of our radio and television clients. There is a great interest of the market in very dynamic radio with us, very open towards integration with us. And the same television, which already has its equipment in hardware, there are also many areas that are looking for this need and we think we are covering them and we are doing quite well with the studio. "
On the Colombian market, the representative of LiveU assured that it has been stable. "I think you feel at times that there is a retraction, but you keep buying, you keep investing. It is a stable market, calmly, it does not enter with an abundance as in some other countries where it is seen that there is a certain dynamism somewhere, but we can say that it is stable, as expectant to see what happens in the political, economic environment and thus be able to make decisions towards the future. "
LiveU's technology has recently been used by Colombian companies for the transmission of sporting events. Among them are the U20 World Cup, held in Argentina, for which the Colombian channels Caracol and RCN used LiveU to bring their signals.
"I think it has been something very interesting, that they continue to trust for their big events, because they are events that need reliable technology, where you need the security of what you are going to transmit, it will go on air and it will arrive with the best quality," said Francisco Roa.
Another sector in which LiveU works strongly in Colombia is security. In this regard, he indicated that "we have always been in broadcast, we have a high market share thanks to the trust of customers, but we have opened the lines for a long time in security and where our local distributor Videocorp does quite well. We have seen opportunities in Colombia where we are growing, it is a process that is not easy to address, it is a process that goes slowly and very surely we will see results that can become equal or better than those of broadcast definitely".
