Latin America. At the 74th Technology and Engineering Emmy Awards on April 16, 2023, ARRI was honored with an Emmy for the technical achievement of a digital cinema camera-mounted video extender for live shows.
This recognition, awarded by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), was presented to ARRI in Las Vegas during the 2023 NAB Show.
Dr. Matthias Erb, Chairman of the Executive Board of ARRI, who received this award, thanked the Academy and said: "ARRI is dedicated to simplicity, efficiency and quality in the design of our products. We strive to ensure that the creative process is never hindered by technical complexities or limitations. Our goal is to ensure smooth operation, flawless workflow and highly cinematic visuals, and we are pleased to continue to bring this impact to live production."
The ARRI multi-camera system and AMIRA Live cinema camera system enable the capture of truly cinematic live productions with multiple cameras, while bringing together a variety of components that give content creators the customized flexibility they need.
The combination of ARRI cameras and an easy-to-integrate fiber transmission system delivers beautiful aesthetics with the efficiency of a live broadcast system. Content producers can in-camera recording for post, finish or slow motion effects and simultaneously transmit live HD or UHD/4K signals to a broadcast hub, stage displays or social media channels using standard production environments such as outdoor shooting vehicles or studios.
Specifically, the camera-mounted fiber adapter allows uncompressed 4K video to be streamed over a much greater distance without quality loss. This technology has been used in a variety of world-class productions such as Queen + Adam Lambert at the O2 Arena in London, David Guetta's "United at Home" show in Dubai or the Coachella Festival in California.
This latest statuette marks the sixth time that the Television Academy or NATAS have presented an Emmy Award to ARRI. Most recently, in 2022, ARRI was awarded the Philo T. Farnsworth Corporate Achievement Emmy Award for the company's 105-year history in the design and manufacture of cameras and lighting systems, as well as in the development of systemic technology solutions and technical service networks for a complex global film industries. of broadcast and media. ARRI also received Engineering Emmys for its SkyPanel family of LED softlights in 2021 and for the ARRI ALEXA camera system in 2017.
