Latin America. One of the changes left by the pandemic in the broadcast and content production industry is that there is a large amount of original content available on a growing number of platforms, for which a high quality of production is required.
According to José Cadavieco, CEO of Vidiexco, "We went to a Netflix that now certifies equipment and the others follow them. We are seeing a trend that now producers do not have a simple camera, the smallest, young people have something that has capacity or that has the possibility of being compared with high-level productions and such is the case of the entire Sony cinematography family, which starts with cameras of $ 1500 until Venice 2. It's a world with different types of clients, from students to great cinematographers and that has now become the day-to-day."
He added that "this comes from the hand of a series of manufacturers that are developing equipment for this type of user and implementations of this technology that are even being taken to sports or serial productions in studios. We are in a transition from what was traditionally flat TV, so to speak, and television with cinematic characteristics with depth of field or much higher resolution content 4K and beyond, which could be interactive in the future and for which new tools are needed that we will continue to offer to our customers in the Americas."
On the shortage of equipment, José Cadavieco stressed that since the end of 2021 it was seen coming that this situation could get progressively worse. "In fact, some manufacturers projected that everything would be regularized by mid-2024. All manufacturers, distributors and suppliers adjust our numbers based on that and I would say that in the case of Vidiexco it took us maybe six months to be able to project what would be the new normal and make our distribution purchases according to what would be the market trend. The market is very particular and the recovery was much slower than that of the United States."
To conclude, the CEO of Vidiexco noted that this centennial version of NAB Show hopes to meet many friends from the industry who were unable to travel to the 2022 edition. "NAB is always the meeting place of the industry. I do believe that the number of people and participants, from what we have been able to survey, will be much higher than the previous year. And we're going to make a number of important announcements about expanding our portfolio of high-end solutions. We are bringing an important delegation of our company, as large as in the pre-COVID times. We have scheduled a series of customized events for key accounts and some specific partners, with new technologies, new trends and new products to be announced during the expo."
