Latin America. Three new 12G Videohub switching arrays were introduced by Blackmagic Design. These devices allow you to distribute all kinds of signals in different definitions simultaneously and without any latency.
These models include a front panel with shortcut buttons, an LCD screen that displays images and names of connected devices, and a machined metal rotary knob that makes it easy to find sources.
The arrays support direct connection of all SDI equipment, in order to electronically link the sources to the outputs and avoid cable entanglement. Nor are diagrams of complex systems required for the study, since any source can be connected to a target equipment or transmit the same signal to several devices.
Since all sources are viewed on the same monitor, great flexibility is obtained when facing constant changes or even emergencies. In addition, it is possible to obtain backup master copies using multiple HyperDeck recorders or send the images to different processors for all streaming platforms. Blackmagic Videohub 12G arrays also provide additional inputs for ATEM mixers.
The integrated control panel allows signals to be distributed and provides an effective solution in those racks that do not have enough space to install additional physical panels. Its design is similar to that of the Videohub Master Control Pro device, with a rotary knob that simplifies the search for sources, buttons that allow quick access to the different connected equipment and a liquid crystal screen that shows the names of the devices and the corresponding images. The screen also provides access to the various matrix settings menus.
The integrated liquid crystal display displays the images for each source. This allows you to check them before making a change. The signs below these facilitate their identification. The fonts are arranged in alphabetical order, and it is possible to see the respective signals even if the formats are different, which provides the opportunity to confirm them visually. In addition, in racks with limited space, the integrated display avoids the need to add an external SDI monitor.
All Blackmagic Videohub models can be controlled remotely, which is essential in large studios where the equipment connected to the matrix is located in different parts of the building. There are two types of panels available. The Videohub Master Control Pro model is similar to the front panel of the devices and includes a rotary knob, a liquid crystal display and shortcut buttons. For its part, the Videohub Smart Control Pro version is usually programmed in such a way that the panel controls one of the matrix outputs, and each button is assigned to an input.
"It was time to upgrade our line of switching dies, and we are very pleased to be able to offer these new models with better design and technology. It will be interesting to hear how users will take advantage of these innovative equipment," said Grant Petty, CEO of Blackmagic Design.
