Mexico. For the company Viewhaus, the market of the broadcast industry in Mexico recovered in 2022. Juan Carlos Medina, director of the company, told TVyVideo+Radio that the previous year "closed in a very good, spectacular way, I would say. The truth is that we returned to the level we had before the pandemic and that meant a very healthy and important recovery for the company."
Although the previous year all technology industries were affected by the lack of equipment, at Viewhaus they were able to cope with this situation. "We had many affectations due to this issue, however, we had information that this was happening and we implemented strategies together with our clients, which allowed us to face it in the best way and we managed to have happy clients because we were able to supply projects in a timely manner. It is a fact that this situation still persists, it is more critical with some manufacturers and certain types of equipment, but it has improved a lot compared to 2022."
And precisely for 2023 it declares itself very optimistic, with an expectation of growth of at least 10%. "As far as the beginning of the year is concerned, we are doing very well to achieve it. So we believe 2023 will be the year of recovery."
In terms of trends, Juan Carlos Medina identifies several. "On the one hand, the use of technology that allows TV or video productions, but with quality or look of cinema and using features such as HDR and 4K. Virtual productions supported by LED screen technologies that give more realism and return customization to productions."
On the adoption of new technology in the broadcast industry in Mexico, he indicated that today they have customers who are at the forefront and must be updated to compete globally. "Those types of customers adopt very quickly, rather we should call them pioneers, but there is another part of the market that is reactive and in those cases the adoption cycle I think takes them a year or more."
Among the recent projects carried out by Viewhaus, they were chosen by MediaPro Mexico to participate in the equipment of their TV studios in Mexico City, which, among other productions, will be at the service of Fox Deportes.
Finally, for NAB Show he said that "We do not expect many news, I think the same shortage of component has made manufacturers enhance existing equipment, however, there will be many upgrades, licenses for new functionalities, I also think there will be many announcing their virtual production options. "
