Latin America. There are several news that the Panasonic company has provided to the broadcast industry in recent days. The first related to its new distributor in Argentina and the launch of its new studio cameras and PTZ.
BVS has been chosen as the only company that will be able to officially distribute Panasonic products in Argentina. The signing of this agreement, between the aforementioned companies and Merlin Distributor, marketer for Latin America, represents a great step for the company led by Facundo Favelukes, which ratifies its leadership in the broadcast market.
"It is a great privilege to have been chosen as Panasonic's sole Master Distributor, an undisputed technology leader worldwide, and one of the most important players in camcorders, broadcast cameras and PTZ. Their expertise allows us to further expand our offer and continue to provide our customers with top-notch products and services," said Juan Lorenzo, New Business Sales Director of BVS.
The company devised a development plan for Panasonic based on two premises that will be the basis for its growth: a solid after-sales service and a broad ecosystem of distributors. BVS, as a company with 100% engineering DNA, guarantees and prioritizes technical support under a technological perspective. As for the new distribution network, a series of companies have already been preselected to be official Panasonic distributors and thus be able to focus on meeting the needs of customers throughout the country.
New cameras
Panasonic Connect has designed the new AK-PLV100GSJ 4K camera so that broadcasters can continue to offer their audiovisual content, but with high quality video quality with a cinematic touch. To achieve this effect, the Japanese firm has implemented a 5.7K super 35mm large format sensor and a PL lens mount, which is able to accommodate cinema lenses for a shallow look.
Rodrigo Costa, manager of Panasonic tells us about the AK-PLV100GSJ: "Audiences have become accustomed to high-quality video content from their streaming platforms, and their expectations for sports broadcasts, local news segments and streaming worship services will continue to grow. The AK-PLV100GSJ studio camera will enter the market amid this proliferation of streaming to help production teams across industries make their content more exciting and engaging. "In the future, Panasonic Connect is committed to enhancing live video streaming of music and sporting events with innovative solutions for on-site production, including IP-based studio cameras for advanced production and flexible system construction."
The AK-PLV100GSJ is compatible with AK-HCU250 and AK-UCU600 camera control units, allowing it to complement existing B4 mount camera systems. The camera also leverages Panasonic's expertise in IP-based live production, as it can output 12G-SDI signals from the camera head and can interact with return, control and other communications directly, or via ST 2110 when used without a CCU.
Similarly, Panasonic has confirmed that this camera will be compatible with SMPTE 2110, which will allow a "more agile" connection with the Kairos IT/IP platform.
For Edson Marion, CEO of Merlin Distributor, Panasonic's master distributor for all Latin America on these launches: "With the highest technology put on the market and with the focus on 4K cinematographic standard, these cameras are at the forefront of the Broadcast market and will surely help continue our permanent sales growth of our company and our reseller partners in the region, imposing and increasing Panasonic products in the professional industry of Latin America."
In addition to the launch of the AK-PLV100GSJ studio camera, Panasonic has introduced the PTZ AW-UE160W/K, a solution with UHD capabilities aimed specifically at the Broadcast industry.
This new flagship model of Panasonic's PTZ range boasts of offering "the highest level of filming performance in the industry" thanks to its 4K HDR capabilities, and the incorporation of "unique" video effects that allow the viewer to be introduced to "new experiences".

The new PTZ is equipped with a variety of features that enable high-precision video production, including a new PTZ mechanism and hybrid image stabilization. On the other hand, the AW-UE160 is presented as the "first PTZ camera" that supports the SMPTE ST2110 standard and wireless transmission with a 5G mobile router.
