Latin America. In a very short time, vertical series ceased to be an isolated trend to consolidate themselves as a new category within the Latin American audiovisual industry.
According to the most recent report by the company Dataxis, during 2025 and 2026, broadcasters, OTTs and production companies throughout the region launched platforms, divisions and specific productions for mobile-first consumption. Globo created GloboPop, ViX launched MicrO, Mega developed MegaShorts and new platforms such as Shorta, Vyco or Idilio TV began to bet on microseries.
At the same time, production companies in Colombia, Brazil and Argentina are already producing vertical content for global giants such as ReelShort, with titles that reach millions of views and position LATAM as one of the most active emerging markets in the format.
The growth of vertical storytelling in LATAM is not only due to a new form of consumption, but also to an economic model different from traditional streaming. Most of these platforms operate under freemium and micropayment schemes, where users unlock chapters individually as the stories progress.
