Colombia. On August 11 and 12, the film industry has an appointment in Medellín, at the first version of Cinemotion Labs, an event that connects film production and post-production in Latin America.
The event will have an important academic program that will discuss the present and future of the industry, from the technological field. This is how its first day, August 11, will focus on analyzing the impact of Artificial Intelligence on the film industry.
Today we are no longer talking about whether artificial intelligence is a risk, it is a reality and the need is to learn to use it as one more tool that allows us to optimize work. The presentations within the framework of the Cinemotion Labs academic program will provide greater tools to learn how to use it in the best way. The agenda includes:
The opening Keynote will be the Mexican director of photography Daniel Blanco, who will be in charge of the presentation: Technology at the service of creativity - Cinema in the era of Artificial Intelligence.
Then, Jorge Marín, Creative Director of Vissua, will have the presentation: Creative criteria in the face of AI: the storyteller of the future. In this talk, he will share his vision as creative director of Vissua on the integration of artificial intelligence in real production processes. He will explain how he approaches these tools from the creative criterion, design and cinematographic rhythm, keeping the human as the axis of the narrative.
In the afternoon, Alexandra Cardona, President of Redes SGC, Juliana Ospina, screenwriter, and Juan David Gil, founding partner of Máquina Espía ciencia &ficción, will participate in the panel Who writes in the future? Creative craft, narrative and the limits of AI, which will be moderated by Carlos Henao, screenwriter and academic director of Cinefilia. In this session, the debate on copyright and the protection of the intellectual property of the audiovisual writer against entertainment algorithms is put on the table.
The last session of the day will be Postproduction: between content creators and platforms, which will be led by the founder of Estudio roco Post Diego Yhama, in which aspects related to the challenges and advantages of artificial intelligence, collaborative work, the cloud and the change it proposes where the definition of quality is transformed will be analyzed.
Cinemotion Labs will be held on August 11 and 12 in Studio 2 of Telemedellín.
