Appear will be at NABShow 2022 with a focus on Latam

appear

NAB. Appear will be present at NAB Show 2022 to offer its technological solutions to broadcasters, telcos and producers globally, with special emphasis on Latin America. During the show, which will take place from April 23 to 27, Appear will demonstrate how to implement the highest quality solutions in compression standards and thus maximize the quality/bitrate ratio.

Its platforms are characterized by low latency for high-speed video networks, enhanced IP security and advanced compression. They are solutions that provide the highest efficiency for signal delivery and processing.

Within its range of products for contribution and distribution, Appear will present the NEO20 compression solution, based on a high capacity and energy efficient server for live distribution; Platform X, a high-speed video networking solution with enhanced IP security and advanced compression for remote production, contribution and distribution markets; and the XC Platform, a modular header for IPTV and broadcasting, which supports signal reception, compression and stream processing, including encoding and multiplexing, with distribution options for cable, satellite and terrestrial networks.

Focus on Latin America
Since 2021, after Thomas Bostrøm Jørgensen took over as CEO of Appear, the company adopted a more commercially focused strategy for Latin America. So it was decided to have a physical presence in the main centers of Latin America: Luis Froylan Pérez has been appointed as Sales Director for Latin America; Bruno Targino as Regional Sales Manager for Brazil, Carlos Iván Fernández as Regional Sales Manager for the Andean Region and engineers Eduardo Martins de Sá and Franco Martinez, who are responsible for providing technical support. The entire Latin American team will be in Las Vegas serving their customers during NABShow 2022.

"One of the company's goals is to increase its market share through a larger sales force. We have a mixed model: on the one hand, we have business partners who have established relationships and businesses; and on the other, managing key accounts where we do not have an active presence, we are focusing on a go-to-market strategy. It is a pragmatic approach, which we evaluate on a case-by-case basis, to determine what strategy to apply for each opportunity and above all how we can best serve our customers," said Luis Froylan Pérez, Appear's Sales Director for Latin America.

The focus of Appear during NABShow 2022 will revolve around four axes: Remote Production, Ground-to-cloud, Broadcast Distribution and Intermediate Coding.

• Remote production: Appear's world-class, high-density, energy-efficient solutions ensure minimal latency and high-quality coding over dedicated lines or public internet, using a Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) protocol with adequate security and minimal bandwidth. By using any of its codecs, you can choose the H.264, HEVC, AVC, JPEG 2000 or JPEG XS (2110 or TS) encoding, and Appear's high-performance backplane, which meets the demands of any remote production in an easy-to-use solution.

• Ground-to-Cloud: Appear's X Platform provides the flexibility for customers to choose their configurations for the Ground-to-Cloud contribution, and is fully adaptable based on connectivity, capacity, and bandwidth. This is achieved with a solution that delivers the highest density and highest energy efficiency in the industry: just one X20 can accommodate up to 96 HEVC, low-latency, Full HD encoders or up to 24 UHD HEVC encoders. A single rack unit will allow most broadcasters to contribute all feeds to the cloud.

• Broadcast Distribution: Appear's X Platform supports cable, satellite and fiber signals, also enabling the delivery of content to OTT viewers, all while supporting legacy systems and networks. Through ABR multicast, it allows operators to offer live TV, while maintaining the quality of the experience. The consumption efficiency of platform X allows operators to save costs, while providing all the necessary functionality in a one- or two-rack unit, optimizing spaces and wiring.

• Intermediate Coding: Platform X AVC/HEVC Appear encoders provide the best option for intermediate encoding at the station: they power high-quality intermediate transmissions to TV operators. "Plug and Play" with minimal operational maintenance, Platform X offers market-leading low latency, quality and energy efficiency. Saves rack space, installation time and maintenance.
