Latin America. Blackmagic Design introduced the new ATEM Mini Pro, a cost-effective mixer with additional features for recording, monitoring sources and live streaming on platforms such as YouTube Live, Facebook and Twitch via Ethernet connection.
The equipment also allows you to burn H.264 files directly to USB flash disks and use several storage media simultaneously. It includes an HDMI output for viewing multiple sources on a single monitor, as well as the status of audio recording, streaming, and mixing.
ATEM Mini models make it easy to create professional productions with multiple cameras for live streaming on YouTube, as well as innovative business presentations via Skype or Zoom. Simply connect the device to switch between four cameras with exceptional image quality, to a computer for PowerPoint presentations, or to a video game console.
Built-in digital visual effects allow simultaneous images to be used that are ideal for live commentary. In addition, this model offers endless additional tools. Also, both ATEM Mini models have a USB port that makes them be detected as a webcam by any program to transmit over the Internet. For its part, the ATEM Mini Pro version also allows you to do it through the Ethernet port, as well as record content directly to USB drives.
In turn, it has an HDMI output to connect projectors and microphone inputs that allow the use of different models, even flap versions, for the purpose of conducting interviews and presentations.
The compact size of the ATEM Mini mixers includes both a control panel and different connections. The front panel includes buttons to toggle between fonts and choose different effects and transitions. These are intuitive and allow the presenter to perform these tasks. It is also possible to mix the audio.
The ATEM Mini Pro version has controls to record and transmit over the Internet, and buttons to select outputs that allow you to switch between the different cameras, the program signal or the multiple view function. On the back of the devices are HDMI connections for cameras or computer equipment, inputs for microphones, a USB port that allows the mixer to be recognized as a webcam and an auxiliary HDMI output for the main signal.
The mixer is very simple to use. Simply press any of the numbered buttons on the front panel to toggle between sources. In turn, it is possible to choose different types of cuts and effects using the CUT or AUTO buttons. Unlike the former, the latter allows you to change from one plane to another according to the selected transition, for example, a dissolve, a fade to a certain color or other effects of greater drama.
On the other hand, the controls of the device provide the opportunity to choose different positions for the overlapping images. It should also be noted that this model facilitates the storage of titles and graphics, which can be accessed through an external control computer program.
The device's HDMI inputs allow you to connect up to four high-quality camcorders. All fonts will sync if they have different formats, so there's nothing to worry about. In addition, it is possible to take advantage of the performance of the cameras in low light conditions to film theatrical productions, weddings, school concerts or video clips.
In order to ensure the widest compatibility, the USB port of the ATEM Mini model allows the device to be detected as a webcam by the programs used in the dissemination of content. This not only provides the possibility of transmitting images in HD 1080 resolution, using Open Broadcaster, XSplit Broadcaster, YouTube Live, Facebook Live, Skype, Zoom, Twitch, Periscope, Livestream and Wirecast.
