Argentina. The head of Enacom, Claudio Ambrosini, together with the vice president, Gustavo López, and the director Gonzalo Quilodrán, participated in a sectoral working table with rural and urban connectivity networks, as well as entities that own radio and television stations in the community sector to strengthen the management of programs to promote and develop social inclusion policies in communication.
Representatives of alternative media and social organizations attended in order to project policies of cooperation and joint work that integrate the voices of popular communication.
Ambrosini stressed that the sector "will be a priority in our management, with the will to seek ways to solve the difficulties that have deepened in recent years. Some will be possible and some may not, but any attempt will be more than doing nothing. Our policy is going to be open to legal solutions, as community media is an important player in a country's communication."
In addition, and in relation to procedures such as the financing of the Fund for the Competitive Promotion of Audiovisual Communication, Fomeca, the commitment was raised to generate conditions that do not exclude popular media with restrictive requirements. In this sense, Vice President López said that "communication is an element of social integration and a tool for equality; therefore, if there are more policies for the sector, there will be more resources to democratize voices. To do this, we are going to review the regulations and streamline the procedures trying to make them as less bureaucratic as possible."
For his part, Director Quilodrán stressed the importance of operationalizing management challenges and everything that is perfectible. "Communication is a right and we want to work with you to make it possible," he said.
