MinTIC opens scholarships for technologists in audiovisual areas

Colombia. The Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies, MinTIC, in partnership with the Ministry of National Education (MEN) and ICETEX, opened the call for the granting of credits forgivable up to 100%, in academic programs related to the fourth industrial revolution.

This call is aimed at Colombian students who wish to start training programs in areas related to Information Technologies (IT) for the first period of 2020, in higher education institutions of the technological level, both in the face-to-face modality, as well as virtual and distance, and under the conditions contained in the strategic alliance.

Applicants will be able to choose between 198 programs of the technological level (167 face-to-face, 17 virtual and 14 distance) in 109 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) of the country. Some of the programs that can be selected are:

- Technology in animation and audiovisual post-production.
- Technology in development of mobile and web applications.
- Technology in robotics and automation.
- Technology in telecommunications network management.
- Technology in information systems.
- Technology in software development.
- Technology in media digitization.

Students who are already in the first, second, third or fourth semester of any technology related to the programs selected for this call, will also have the opportunity to apply.

Those interested should review in detail the enabling requirements to be part of this call, which seeks to continue developing digital skills in citizenship, to contribute to closing the gap in the IT sector and building a digital future.

Requirements
For participants who meet the SISBEN cut-off points to access the ICETEX subsidy or are vulnerable population (victims, Red Unidos, displaced, reintegrated and indigenous), MinTIC will finance 75% of the value of the registration and ICETEX, 25% of the value of the registration. In both cases it will be through forgivable credits.

When participants do not meet the requirements to access ICETEX grants, MinTIC will finance 90% of the value of the tuition as a forgivable credit and icetex, 10% of the value as a refundable credit.
