A number of technologies and components for the next-generation 5G network, which is intended to help operators achieve commercial 5G success, was unveiled as part of Huawei's product and solutions launch in London by Peng Song, President of Marketing and Sales Solutions of the Operators Business Group.
The state-of-the-art 5G solutions launched during the event include a number of product solutions, such as the simplified radio access network (RAN), smart IP network, ultra-high bandwidth transport network, green connections and 5G end-to-end services enabled for Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Simplified RAN Accelerates 5G Deployment: The Simplified RAN features three product solutions: the industry's lightest third-generation massive MIMO antenna; Blade AAU with the highest level of integration in the industry; and a 400 MHz ultra-wideband AAU. These solutions address pain points during installation, site acquisition, and dispersed frequency bands to help operators rapidly deploy 5G.
The intelligent IP network leads the industry in supporting comfortable SLAs: through this solution, IP service providers can transform into IP networks with comfortable SLAs. This is 5 times the industry average. Working with Network Cloud Engine (NCE) and using SRv6, the intelligent IP network is the first in the industry to support comfortable latency. The solution also uses telemetry for on-site information flow (iFIT), which means faults can be located in minutes and the network is highly available.
Ultra-fast broadband transport network with the industry's first 800G module: This solution provides a transmission capacity of 48 terabits per second in a single optical fiber, 40% more than the industry average. This will ensure that the transport network can evolve smoothly over the next 10 years.
Green connections that reduce the power consumption of 5G sites: The 5G AAU uses highly integrated chips patented by Huawei, reducing power consumption by more than 15%. The AI-enabled PowerStar solution also supports multi-band, multi-frequency coordination, reducing grid-wide power consumption by an additional 15% to 20%.
AI-enabled end-to-end 5G delivery paves the way to a digital and intelligent era: AI applies to the complete lifecycle management of 5G technology. This ensures that network planning becomes more accurate for a better user experience, network construction becomes more agile for higher quality, services marketed to users are more specific, and user experience issues are addressed more quickly.
