Mexico. In its most recent roadshow in Mexico, VSN showed its customers and television stations its range of solutions and technological developments. Supported by the distributor, Magnum, the Iberian company also offered its position on the future of the market and the broadcast industry in the country.
Jordi Utiel, CEO and President of VSN, shared his vision for the industry: "There is a demand for more content and more devices on which they are consuming that content. Technological tools can provide a plus in improving the consumption of these contents. And this can provide much better content, with much more quality, for the greater satisfaction of consumers. In this new OTT market, our main customers are broadcasters, but we also have video-on-demand distributors, who use our solutions."
And he said: "On content and distribution, with the right content and the necessary budgets we could have an improvement in the distribution systems. In VSN we try to bring technological solutions to television stations, both private and public. We encourage us to make better content of quality and with enough quantity for new audiences."
Teresa Velázquez, president of the Network of Educational and Cultural Radio and Television Stations of Mexico (La Red) and general director of the Zacatecan Radio and Television System, also offered her vision on the reality of public television stations: "The future of television I would like to see well and I would like to see it differently. (...) It is also good to take the models that have been undertaken internationally because with this new change of government we must see how we can take advantage of the public media for a better dissemination of content."
He added: "I would love to have a public media OTT, because we already have the technology and enough resources to make a platform to distribute our content. In this OTT we could have the multiculturalism of Mexico, with quality, with the technological tools that can demonstrate what Mexico is."
Velázquez highlighted the realization of this type of professional events: "This type of meetings gives us the possibility of knowing the solutions that are there, but landed to a reality that we live every day. We need many technological solutions that bring us closer to a new reality of developments that are in accordance with the realities of television stations such as those that are incorporated into La Red".
Among the panelists of this day were Alfonso Vázquez, Sales Manager for Latin America; Roberto Duif, General Manager of Sales for Latin America of VSN, Jorge Camacho, CEO of Magnum; David Camacho, Sales Director of the Mexican distributor; and Antonio Peña, Magnum product specialist, among other participants.
