Argentina. With the change of government in Argentina that takes place this week, the National Communications Agency (Enacom) presented the Management Report 2015-2019 that brings together the main indicators and results of the actions and policies carried out in audiovisual matters and Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) since its creation.
The document consists of 8 (eight) chapters that cover the guidelines on which Enacom worked during the 4 years: Internet for all, Plurality of voices, Close to you, Productivity and promotion of competition, Transparency in management, Enacom in the world, Gender policies and Responsible use of ICT.
In this regard, the President of the Agency said: "Enacom complied with the highest standards of regulatory bodies at the international level, setting public policies for connectivity in an area of absolute transparency and access to information. Today we present this 2015-2019 report that gives an account of what has been done in the field of audiovisual media and telecommunications with the certainty of having contributed to the reduction of the digital divide and the inclusion of all Argentines. Access to the internet is a universal right, as President Mauricio Macri told us, we have been working during these four years to connect Argentines in every corner of the country."
Among the main issues highlighted in the report are the connectivity policies promoted through the Universal Service Funds, the deployment of 4G, the Audiovisual Sector Regularization Plan, the Competitive Development Fund (FOMECA), the 450 MHz Band, the Open Data Portal, among others.
The Management Report details the advances in connectivity, having considerably reduced the digital divide and increased the quality standards of services. Likewise, the debt paid for many years with the FM radio sector is reflected, regularizing the Precarious and Provisional Permits (PPP) and calling for competition for new licenses, in the same way that the community media sector was encouraged through FOMECA.
The report also highlights the campaigns for the prevention of crime associated with cell phones, through the blocking of terminals, the nominativity of prepaid lines, and the gender policies promoted by Ente to prevent violence and reduce inequalities.
In this way, everything done by Enacom in the period 2015-2019, was documented so that citizens can access all the available information as a concrete element that strengthens the transparency of public management in the face of society.
