Brazil. During the 2019 version of SET Expo, the company Telos Alliance presented its low-cost television audio processor with great possibility of better controlling the audio that is transmitted by the television stations. They also presented the IQX, the console to the cloud or in networks.
Another of the technologies that was present was the IP Infinity intercom solution, which is increasingly having a presence in the market of television and theater production, as well as high-level radio. It is the matrixless solution for audio over IP from intercom
Juan Ignacio Punyed, Sales Director for Latin America of Telos Alliance, told TVyVideo+Radio that it was the radio that first entered IP because of the cost issue, because the bandwidth is smaller. "In radio, IP has been used for quite some time, to move the automation of audio. Not all radios are IP yet but they go there and we see more and more radios from small cities that are already in IP. AES67 was also another step for audio to move over IP and now goes to the 2110 standard."
He added that video people today are seeing all the beauties of what has been going on since 2004 when IP on radio started. And in television, although it requires a higher bandwidth, all the possibilities are already being seen, lowering costs and taking advantage of the manipulation of video and audio together.
On the market in Latin America, he stressed that in general the broadcast industry is hit. "Luckily, we've done well. The key is to maximize customers, looking into other niches. We were at TecnoTelevisión Mexico and we expanded the people we work with, like people from other industries who are looking for options to move audio, which we do at Telos Alliance."
He concluded that "the customer does not want to pay for expensive equipment, they look for equipment that makes it economical, fast and that if the technology changes, it does not bother their pocket and they can quickly change technology or brands."
