Bases change to deliver Audiovisual Development Fund

Chile. Great changes bring the new bases to compete with the Audiovisual Development Fund of the CNTV, which allocates this year a total of $ 3,154,198,000 Chilean pesos.

Among the biggest changes is the strengthening of international co-production, which ceases to be a specific competitive line and becomes a modality. Which means that now the projects can participate in co-production with foreign entities in all the competitive lines.

Another novelty is the expansion of topics of interest in which the contest will focus this 2019, attending to projects that promote women's rights and gender equity; proposals that address, represent and dialogue with the relegated youth audience; and productions that develop scientific/educational themes.

The line of programs of local and local origin of a community nature is reintegrated, with the intention of continuing to represent through the contents financed by the CNTV Fund, the different audiences of the country and their interests.

As was committed to the Joint Budget Committee, this year's rules establish that 30% of projects that come from regions other than the Metropolitan will be rewarded preferentially. Strengthening the presence of regional content on screens.

Special attention and care is also paid for this 2019 version and onwards, to the regulation of the use of names of real persons and / or institutions, as well as the protection of the intellectual property of third parties.

On the other hand, the minimum duration of each chapter is eliminated, looking for the postulation of microprograms and other short series. A change that obeys the evolution of the industry and allows projects of different formats to arrive.

The application for the contest is totally online through the site https://fomento.cntv.cl/ and the deadline to apply for projects goes from March 25 to April 26, 2019.

Once again, it is recommended that all applicants carefully read the bases already published and in case of doubts, go in advance to the "Application Consultations" section, the only established way for questions regarding the contest. This allows the applicant to obtain an expeditious and supported response.
