Colombia. The National Television Authority, ANTV, carried out the launch of the "DTT Territories" project in El Carmen de Bolívar, where 125 households of stratum 1 are already enjoying the high definition television signal.
With this program, the entity subsidizes the kits for receiving the digital signal (decoded and antenna) to the stratum 1 households of these municipalities that do not have subscription television, Telecaribe acquires and installs them, and SENA trains the workforce.
The members of the National Television Board, Claudia Nuñez, Ernesto Orozco and Suzy Sierra, in the company of the director Angela María Mora Soto, toured the Barrio 8 de Junio, a place selected for this first stage, due to its condition of poverty and the large number of children and young people who inhabit it, to greet the more than 650 beneficiaries and listen to the impressions of all its residents with the arrival of the good sign to their homes.
During the visit, which was also accompanied by the Regional Director Bolivar of SENA, Jaime Torrado and the Manager of the Telecaribe Channel, Juan Manuel Buelvas, strategic allies in the execution and implementation of this project, the inhabitants of June 8 expressed their joy at the arrival of DTT in their homes and thanked the ANTV for doing what they say: "that their old TVs now look like new."
After the tour, all the officials arrived at the headquarters of the House of Culture, where 70 Carmeros between men and women, are being trained to be themselves who install in Carmen de Bolívar the reception kits of the signal to the 5,600 stratum 1 households benefited from this project.
During the visit, the students thanked the opportunity they are receiving from the ANTV, sena, which is the entity in charge of their training, and Telecaribe, who will hire all those who are certified and approve the course of heights.
"We promised it and we fulfilled it," Angela María Mora said at a press conference. "Our responsibility goes beyond the missionary. We have a great social challenge and television is a very important factor of family cohesion and that is what we want to give back to homes with this project: to make the family reunite around television and we are seeing that again today in El Carmen de Bolívar. The smile of the children is the best reward for our work," said the director.
"We bet on the development of the Montes de María with an investment of more than $ 1,500 million, which will not only guarantee the best television signal, but also leave an installed work capacity in these 70 young people who today are being trained as DTT installers," added the director of the ANTV.
