International. Fullscreen employs several Blackmagic digital cameras, including three URSA Mini 4.6K units and four Micro Studio Camera 4K, as well as other products manufactured by the company, with the aim of streaming original shows through its new eponymous platform.
This global media company has more than 600 subscribers and, in addition to fostering the professional growth of individuals of great influence on the Internet, produces programs through multiple platforms. Fullscreen was founded in 2011, taking advantage of the rapid development of YouTube, and works with diverse personalities, broadcasters and presenters to increase their sources of income and their presence in the media.
As part of this initiative, the company created not only a video-on-demand system that allows the audience to view and share content, but also a recording studio that provides various services aimed at the production of original material.
According to Richard A. Pizante, head of production, the Fullscreen team records, produces, edits and transmits audiovisual material directly through its platform. For this purpose, three URSA Mini 4.6K cameras are used for daily coverage, similar to electronic news gathering, and another four Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K in the studio.
On the other hand, the company uses four Micro Studio Camera 4K units, an ATEM Television Studio mixer and HyperDeck recorders installed in a portable module, as well as three Blackmagic Cinema Cameras for the recording of the programs in New York.
"Blackmagic Design's products offer us a viable solution for filming in the studio or on the go," said Richard. "For example, we used our custom portable module to shoot several episodes on Vidcon this year. It fits in two small transport trunks and consists of four Micro Studio Camera 4K units and other Blackmagic Design equipment that allow for high-quality production."
In addition to Blackmagic's Studio Cameras, Fullscreen Studios features a rack that includes an ATEM Production Studio 4K mixer, six HyperDeck Studio professional recorders, a 40x40 Smart Videohub array, Smartview 4K and Smartview HD monitors, and several Mini Converters. The studio was built from scratch in an empty warehouse located in Playa Vista, which now houses twelve stages with cameras, eight of them large and four conditioned for broadcasts through the podcast mode, in addition to a control room in which the aforementioned frame and other Blackmagic devices are located. The electrical installation to connect all the equipment was done through a connection board located at the back of the studio.
