Consumption patterns of telecommunications users

Mexico. The results of the "Third Survey 2016, Users of Telecommunications Services", presented by the Federal Institute of Telecommunications, IFT, includes for the first time consumption patterns and user experience by Socioeconomic Level according to the ability to access and use telecommunications services.

The study showed that, regardless of socioeconomic status, one of the main variables of comparison in fixed Internet, fixed telephony and pay television services is price; while mobile phone users make purchasing decisions based on the quality of service, signal and coverage.

It is important to note that the analysis by Socioeconomic Level is consistent with the best international practices carried out by different telecommunications regulatory bodies in terms of surveys.

The new edition of this study, conducted based on information obtained through 10,600 surveys nationwide, was conducted between September 22 and October 28, 2016.
