Peru. The Ministry of Transport and Communications, through the Vice Ministry of Communications, received the ISO 9001:2015 certification in recognition of the standardization of its processes, aimed at delivering safe, reliable and good quality services.
The certifier SGS del Perú S.A.C delivered to the Deputy Minister of Communications, Carlos Valdez Velásquez-López, the certificate to six processes executed by the General Directorate of Control and Supervision of Communications.
"This certification will help improve efficiency and work with more order, in order to respond to expectations and needs of citizens according to our functions and competencies, which will generate an evident change in the quality of service," he said.
The deputy minister, who was accompanied by the general director of Control and Supervision of Communications, Miguel Arce Trujillo, noted that the new version of the ISO 9001: 2015 standard has been developed taking into account the challenges currently faced by companies and institutions, incorporating risk management in quality management.
The six certified processes are Inspection of Broadcasting Services, Technical Monitoring of the Radio Spectrum, Communications Violations, Collection of Economic Obligations, Homologation of Telecommunications Equipment and Apparatus and Verification of Maximum Permissible Limits in Non-Ionizing Radiation in Telecommunications.
This was possible thanks to the optimization of the processes through strict compliance with the deadlines established by law and the elaboration of procedures that comply with the requirements of the international standard, a task that was in charge of the staff of the General Directorate.
