Colombia. Two engineers from Grass Valley visited Colombia the previous week to present for the first time in the country two products launched in the last version of NAB: the LDX 86 camera (HD/3G/4K/High-Speed) and the K2 Dyno Universe replay system.
Hand in hand with its local distributor, AVCOM, engineers Wellington Dassi, Service Manager Latam, and Carlos Moura, Sales Engineer were for three days in Televideo, RCN and Caracol, sessions in which about 80 professionals participated.
Wellington Dassi told TVyVideo+Radio that this presentation is part of Grass Valley's strategy to strengthen its presence in the Latino market, in which they have been growing after several changes in both technology and human talent after the integration of the company with Miranda.
The LDX 86 series cameras offer the perfect solution for all format requirements, especially when light sensitivity is paramount. In the native acquisition of 1920x1080, the LDX 86 4K and LDX 86 Universe cameras use a closed and unique system process for UHD of 3840x2160 where all processing takes place within the camera system.
For its part, the K2 Dyno Universe replay systems are optimized for operation in 6X or 4K, and both allow to switch between 6X / 4K. Replays in 4K and 6X are much more accessible. For example, until now, 4K replay typically required doubling the number of servers, rack space, and number of operators compared to HD. As a result, 4K replay was impractical for most events.
Germán Trujillo, AVCOM's Broadcast Sales Manager, stressed that the intention with this tour was to take advantage of the presence of the two engineers in Colombia to show the industry the advantages offered by the recent Grass Valley technology, both to current and potential customers of the company.
