Peru. The Ministry of Transport and Communications granted the good pro for 36 broadcasting frequencies in 13 locations in the country, as part of the sector's policy of providing a greater offer and diversity of content of the FM sound broadcasting service.
The call for public tender included thirteen localities located in the departments of Ayacucho, Cusco, Cajamarca, Callao, Huancavelica, Huánuco, Junín, Lima, Loreto, Piura, Puno, San Martín and Ucayali.
For this contest, organized by the General Directorate of Authorizations in Communications of the MTC and the Committee appointed by the Vice Ministry of Communications, great importance was given to the border areas, rural areas and those located in the Valley of the Apurimac, Ene and Mantaro rivers – VRAEM.
The Deputy Minister of Communications, Javier Coronado, and the General Director of Authorizations in Telecommunications, Gloria Cadillo, highlighted the interest in the process, in which the 36 frequencies were awarded for a total amount of 5,178,269.
In turn, Vice Minister Coronado pointed out that this process provides new opportunities for private investment in the broadcasting market, generating greater alternatives for communication, information, education and / or entertainment for Peruvians.
In addition, he mentioned that the large number of bidders presented demonstrates the interest that exists in investing and developing quality broadcasting in Peru.
