Latin America. After the union of Snell and Quantel last September, the company has grown significantly in the region, both in business and in the sales team, today with offices in Mexico, Brazil and directed from Miami.
Rafael Castillo, Sam's Vice President for Latin America, told TVyVideo+Radio that today there are about 15 people directly in charge of the region, counting sales, pre-sales and after-sales and with the support of the organization from the United States and the United Kingdom.
"The Latin American market for us has a lot of growth potential because SAM's presence at the regional level was focused on some markets and the brand was not known with its entire product portfolio. Today we are generating that recognition and we already have important results. I see 2016 in the region as a year of opportunities despite the current political and economic situation," he added.
In terms of technology, after the union of the two companies, the solutions were encapsulated in segments to serve the market, such as live production aimed at sporting or news events, or the creation part that can range from news to a film production. In the final distribution part, it is a master control playout for satellite and OTT broadcasters and in infrastructure and MAM. "Packaging these solutions allows for better communication with customers and at the same time allowed for an evaluation of costs," said Rafael Castillo.
One of the latest launches of the company focused especially for Latin America, and that will be presented at NAB, is the new range of Multi-format production mixers Kula, which provides easy installation and commissioning, so that operators can work quickly and efficiently, to concentrate on creative tasks of high value. Ideal for multiple applications, from live events, the production of sports broadcasts and houses of worship, entertainment and conferences.
