Argentina. The board of directors of the Federal Authority for Audiovisual Communication Services met this afternoon and approved authorizations and awards of audiovisual licenses. In addition, he advanced in the adaptation of means to the law and asked the Bicameral of Promotion and Monitoring of Audiovisual Communication of the Congress to appoint the new directors, after the resignation of Milman and Stubrin.
At the meeting, chaired by the head of the organization, Martín Sabbatella, the authorization of FM radios for the provinces of Córdoba, Tierra del Fuego, Buenos Aires, Río Negro, Tucumán, Salta, Neuquén and Entre Ríos was approved. Also a closed circuit television in the city of Puán, province of Buenos Aires, a cable service in General Baldiserra, Córdoba, and a cooperative cable in Leones, with extension to Las Palmas, in the province of Chaco.
On the other hand, the award was determined for the installation of a cooperative cable system in Suardi, province of Santa Fe, and a General Pirán one, Buenos Aires. Likewise, the authorization for the installation and operation of an FM station was issued to the municipality of Anisacate, province of Córdoba.
The directors also approved the completion of the process of adapting Grupo Prisa to the Audiovisual Communication Services Law.
Also, attentive to the resignations of the directors Gerardo Milman and Marcelo Stubrin, the members of the board resolved to request the Bicameral Commission for the Promotion and Monitoring of Audiovisual Communication of the National Congress to, in compliance with Law 26,522, take the necessary measures for the appointment of the new directors who will occupy the positions that remained vacant.
