Peru. Within the framework of the National Congress of Broadcasters, the owners of local radio and television stations throughout the country will form a Permanent Commission to contribute institutionally to the country, on issues of freedom of expression, democracy, fight against corruption, investment with social responsibility and marketing of advertising in local and regional media.
The media of the interior of the country together with the media of Lima that do not belong to the SNRTV, seek to strengthen themselves institutionally, uniting their voices through the Peru Media Coordinator. The objective is to have greater participation and contribution to the country, as do the large radio and television networks, through the National Society of Radio and Television (SNRTV), mining entrepreneurs with the SNMPE, export entrepreneurs with ADEX or CONFIEP, among other business groups.
Local and regional media throughout the country have an important force at the national level, which however, due to the lack of unity, do not have greater national influence, in most cases, their domains and scope only reach the jurisdiction where they operate.
Currently there is no unified voice of all local and regional radios (or at least the most important), in this sense the Coordinadora de Medios Perú, is convening the owners of the radios and television stations of the 25 regions to elect their representative before the Permanent Commission that will be elected this October 16 within the framework of the National Congress of Broadcasters of Peru.
Edgar Guevara Soto, Director of the Peru Media Coordinator, said that "The unity of local radios is an urgent and urgent need, so this year the Permanent Commission will be basically composed of the broadcasters of the most representative radio and television stations in each region, so that they link and channel union affairs with the radios of the provinces and districts of all Peru."
Currently the Coordinadora de Medios Perú acts through its Executive Council, composed of multidisciplinary professionals and its General Assembly is composed of affiliated broadcasters that currently reach 350; most of them owners of stations and television stations located in the provinces and regions of the interior of the country.
