According to public statements by Lucy Osorno, the problem was due to the hiring in RTVC of a lawyer suggested by Minister Molano to support the tender of the social DTH program, which seeks to bring digital satellite television to the most remote places in the country, with an offer of 16 channels.
According to the outgoing director, she refused to hire the lawyer and the next day Minister Molano asked her to resign indicating that there was no chemistry between the two to do a good job.
After this unfortunate episode, the tender for the second stage of the DTH Social project is at stake, which should be ready in September and has more than 50 billion pesos at stake.
It is rumored that the new director of RTVC would be Mauricio Samudio, who served as commissioner of the defunct National Television Commission and has extensive experience in the sector.
