Latin America. Andinalink 2015 served as a platform for the European company Cryptoguard, which provides access security systems for digital television, to announce its arrival in Colombia and the search for a distributor in the country.
Tobyas Nystrom, sales director for Latin America at Cryptoguard, told TVyVideo that the company has a presence in Europe, Asia, Africa and since November 2014 they arrived in Latin America. Today they have clients in Brazil, Mexico, Peru, the country where they opened an office, and they have just entered Colombia.
"Our goal is to be in all the countries of the region, above all, through distributors. We have just arrived in Colombia and we are looking for a company that represents us in the country," he added.
The first installation carried out by the company in the region was for América Móvil in Mexico. In addition, they are working with Movistar and other important companies in the region, although he stressed that their systems can be used by operators of all sizes, thanks to the fact that it is very easy to understand and handle by any operator, as well as its low cost.
Latin America is just beginning to implement OTT systems, as well as piracy in the sector, are situations that generate business opportunities for Cryptoguard and its security systems, such as CAS, SMS, DRM and IPTV. "There are business prospects throughout the region that we hope to consolidate, although we have a special interest in Central America," concluded Tobias Nystrom.
