International. A Solid State Logic Compact Broadcast C10 Digital Console has been installed at the hub of Canada's popular broadcasting giant The Shopping Channel (TSC) to help the station transition to all-HD production. It's the power, ease of use, and Production Assistant software and reliability of the C10 that are most useful for the station's audio equipment.
TSC is using the console for all of its weekly HD productions, including two recurring shows - Destination Style and TGIM. "Now that we've completed the transition to all HD production, the C10 fits perfectly within our equipment mix," says John DeHaas, Director of Over-the-Air Operations for The Shopping Channel.
The Shopping Channel facility consists of two main television studios that house the programming sets: Studio A with 4200 square feet and Studio B with 4600 square feet, both served by SSL C10 in its new 350-square-foot HD 1 Control Room. The station also relies on the console's integrated broadcast, alignment and music system, C-Play and Eyeconix channel displays to help resolve rapid changes.
"We used the C-Play package to easily squeeze in needed audio segments," DeHass explains. "This fantastic feature has greatly simplified our workflow, giving us more time to focus on other production matters. Our goal is to provide a unique, dynamic and engaging shopping experience for our customers."
