Colombia. With the participation of some of the main figures who have marked the history of national radio, Señal Colombia Sistema de Medios Públicos commemorated the 75 years of public radio, with the event "Colombia al Aire, more than 75 years telling our story".
The celebration was enriched with unpublished audios of coverage of important events in the country, touring through the technological changes of public radio since its inauguration on the first of February 1940 by Eduardo Santos, the then president of Colombia.
The event recalled crucial moments of the radio such as the concern that produced in the city of Pasto the attempted coup d'état of July 10, 1944, which could be mitigated thanks to the live intervention of the "National Radio Broadcaster of Colombia". This "Radiodifusora" was also the main protagonist of the 'Bogotazo', when it was assaulted by the demonstrators of April 9, 1948.
The event celebrating the 75th anniversary also served to recognize artists, broadcasters, journalists and all those who for years contributed their talent to entertain and educate Colombian audiences.
For those generations that grew up tuning into a transistor, they have special significance, for example, the education days of the 'Bachillerato por radio', a star program that turned public radio into an educational pioneer in the country and whose record will be remembered in this event.
Also featured was señal Radiónica, Glossary Link station that explores new communication channels from the radio and whose main audiences are the new generations of Colombia. Señal Radiónica was born on October 15, 2005, transforming the concept of "La Frecuencia Joven", a youth option that the National Radio Broadcaster had for the people of Bogota.
