Chile. Between the fifth and sixth of November, the ninth version of the Chile Media Show will be held, a fair dedicated to the world of telecommunications, which this year for the first time is held at the Sheraton Miramar Hotel in Viña del Mar.
María Soto, president of Grupo Isos Internacional, the organizing company of the fair, spoke about the benefits of the Chilean telecommunications and cable TV market, assuring that "Chile is the second Latin American country with the greatest development of telecommunications. Pay TV in the Chilean market continues to grow and has a very high penetration, in addition Chilean viewers are looking for greater quality and variety of content."
This year the event will have a strong participation of latin American radios gathered by RFI, two panels of specialists will be presented and debate with participants on the technological challenges and the new habits and possibilities of consumption of radio and on the journalistic work today in the radio medium.
In addition, the Center for Studies for the Development of Telecommunications and Access to the Information Society of Latin America (CERTAL), will be organizing two major thematic conferences on "Regulation and Freedom of the Press in Latin America" and "Piracy in the cable and Internet industry".
To conclude, several technical workshops will also be offered with topics such as OTT, VOD, FTTH in Cable Networks and HFC Networks. To crown the great fair, there will be a commercial exhibition of about 40 Stands, where channels and signals from all over Latin America and technology, content and service providers will be presenting their products and proposals.
